BABYLON THE CITY THAT CHALLENGED THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD ON EARTH

The city of Babylon was in present-day Iraq, not far from Baghdad, in the south, by the Euphrates river

The city of Babylon was in present-day Iraq, not far from Baghdad, in the south, by the Euphrates river. To fully understand what this city represented spiritually, it is necessary to know why it was originally built: To challenge Jehovah’s sovereignty on Earth.

Recognizing that Jehovah is the Only One to be worshiped in an exclusive way, is closely linked to the recognition of his sovereignty, both in heaven and on earth: "Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanksgiving to the One seated on the throne, the One who lives forever and ever, the 24 elders fall down before the One seated on the throne and worship the One who lives forever and ever, and they cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created" ( Revelation 4:9-11). The context clearly shows that the worship reserved for Jehovah, and the fact of recognizing his sovereignty, are linked: "they cast their crowns before the throne".

When Nimrod, founder of what would later be the city and kingdom of Babylon, decided to build a tower to unite the world population, around his person and his kingdom, he rebelled against the exclusive worship due to Jehovah and his legitimate right to sovereignty: "Cush became father to Nimrod. He was the first to become a mighty one on the earth. He became a mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah. That is why there is a saying: “Just like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah.” The beginning of his kingdom was Babel (Babylon)" (Genesis 10:8-10). "They now said: “Come! Let us build a city for ourselves and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a celebrated name for ourselves, so that we will not be scattered over the entire face of the earth" (Genesis 11:4). The "tower with its top in the heavens" was a challenge to Jehovah's sovereignty, being Himself the God of Heaven. The expression Babylon "the Great" of the Apocalypse (Revelation), alludes to this project of earthly self-government, which challenged the sovereignty of the God of the Heavens, but also of the Earth.

Therefore, according to the biblical context, the symbolism in connection with Babylon, cannot be only "religious" (linked to the worship), being separated at the same time, from a political concept (linked to the sovereignty), because they are simply nested and inseparable. The concepts of "religion" and "politic" are not biblical (Even though 2 Kings 17: 26-33,44, the Latin word "religion" appears, to translate the Hebrew word מִשְׁפָּט (mishpat) (Strong's Concordance (H4941), it rather has the general sense of judgment or divine law). These concepts come from Greco-Roman philosophy which admits their separation in the administration of the city.

In the Bible, the "political" and "priestly" sovereignty were completely intertwined (Not only in Israel, but in neighboring nations as Egypt, Syria, Babylon...). They were both theocratic and monarchical governments, the king often being either the representative of a sovereignty of a god on earth, or the very embodiment of a god. Just as the political and military fall of the former world power of Babylon, represented the destruction of this earthly rivalry against the sovereignty of God, it is the same today in terms of the symbolism of the fall and the destruction of Babylon the Great (Revelation 14:8). Since the beginning of humanity, the challenge is the worship by the recognition of sovereignty on earth (Genesis 3). In the model prayer, Jesus Christ put these two important ideas at the beginning of the prayer: "Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified (the worship).  Let your Kingdom come (the sovereignty)" (Matthew 6:9,10) (HOW TO PRAY GOD ? ; EARTHLY KINGDOM GOD ; THE NEW JERUSALEM).

BABYLON THE GREAT:

THE CAPITAL OF SATAN SOVEREIGNTY ON EARTH

THE CAPITAL OF POLITICAL AND RELIGIOUS SOVEREIGNTY

“On her forehead was written a name, a mystery: “Babylon the Great, the mother of the prostitutes and of the disgusting things of the earth.” And I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the holy ones and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus”

(Revelation 17:5,6)

“On her forehead was written a name, a mystery: “Babylon the Great, the mother of the prostitutes and of the disgusting things of the earth.” And I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the holy ones and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus”
(Revelation 17:5,6)

Babylon the Great represents the priestly dimension of the devil’s sovereignty on earth: the patriotic and religious spirituality that accompanies the human sovereignty, led by Satan, enabling relative cohesion of empires and states (2 Corinthians 4:4). To better understand, we can read the account of the last of the devil's temptations: "Again the Devil took him along to an unusually high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to him: “All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me”" (Matthew 4:8,9). In this case, the devil asked for an act of worship and allegiance which represented the spiritual dimension of recognition of his sovereignty on earth (temporary), in exchange for sharing this sovereignty. Jesus Christ rejected this offer, telling him that exclusive worship belongs to Jehovah: "Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service"” (Matthew 4:10). In his answer, Jesus Christ opposes the devil's offer, the fact that every human must offer a sacred service (in worship) to Jehovah God. Where do we offer sacred service? In a temple, which is currently spiritual. This shows that worship (political or religious) is closely linked to the recognition of the sovereignty of one who is supposed to be worshiped, either God or the devil.

The Christians of the early church and those who lived in the twentieth century (but also today), were confronted with this same test: their exclusive worship to God (by a sacred service) and obedience to his Son Jesus Christ , was put into severe trials and difficulties, facing with another form of political and religious worship, required on pain of imprisonment and often death. The holy ones often paid with their freedom and their life, their attachment to God and to his Son Jesus Christ, in the lion pits, the concentration camps, the gulags, the imprisonments (Hebrews 11:32-38). The Revelation describes Babylon the Great, capital of Satan's sovereignty on earth, as a sanguinary woman: "And I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the holy ones and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus" (Revelation 17:6).

In John 4:23, Jesus Christ talk about "true worshipers", therefore Babylon the Great can only represent the symbolic capital of the "false worshipers". It represents the earthly sovereignty of Satan, through humans who venerates it by various cult objects, such as statues or flags and political and religious rites, such as prayers and hymns not addressed to God, but to other gods or saints, or simply patriotic worship, or worship or adulation to dictators... The former city of Babylon refers to the first attempt to organize a worldwide kingdom to worship Satan the devil, through Nimrod who wanted to be the first founder and autocrat or earthly dictator. This new kingdom was to be the earthly capital of sovereignty, rivaling that which rightfully belongs to Jehovah (Genesis 10:8,9; 11:4 "Nimrod, a mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah"). The city of Babylon was in present-day Iraq, not far from Baghdad, in the south, on the edge of the Euphrates. This city is the antithesis of the city of Jerusalem, which is the spiritual capital of Jehovah's "true worshipers" (John 4:23).

In the book of Revelation, the New Jerusalem represents the future heavenly wife of King Jesus Christ (Revelation 21:2). It is written that the future earthly governance of the New Jerusalem will be both royal and priestly. It represents a kingdom (Revelation 5:10). Likewise, Babylon the Great is a city described as "kingdom over kings" (Revelation 17:18). This kingdom over kings is the exercise of the priestly sovereignty around worship whether in the context of a (religious) temple or a patriotic (political) ceremony.

Babylon the Great is described as a prostitute, who commits fornication with the kings of the earth (Revelation 18:3). In this, it is like Jezebel, mentioned in the book of revelation: "Nevertheless, I do hold this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and misleads my slaves to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols" (Revelation 2:20). We can consider this passage to be a simple definition of Babylon the Great: a prophetess who organizes the worship of Satan on earth. In the Bible it is described as the one that encouraged the worship of Baal, a worship rivaling the true worship of Jehovah (1 Kings 17:31; 18:19). In the biblical narrative she is describes as manipulator of her husband, king Ahab, even to organize murders (1 Kings 21 the murder of Naboth). Therefore, Babylon the Great is the allusion to the first city organized as worship rivaling that of Jehovah, also symbolized with the bad woman Jezebel the prophetess of Baal.

In the Bible there is the concept of the sovereignty of God through royalty, and the sovereignty of God through the worship (or sacred service) due to it, through the priesthood.

These two concepts, administration of the city by a king or princes (political) and administration of the priesthood, although different, are inseparable. For example, in the Bible, the 144,000 have the function of representing the sovereignty of God, through the royal function (administration of the city) and priestly sovereignty (administration of the spiritual temple) (Revelation 5:10). It is interesting to note that the copper altar in the courtyard of the temple sanctuary had four horns at four angles (Exodus 29:12). What did these horns symbolize? They simply symbolized the sovereignty of God: "Jehovah will shatter those fighting against him; He will thunder against them from the heavens. Jehovah will judge to the ends of the earth, He will give power to his king And exalt the horn of his anointed one" (1 Samuel 2:10). In this text, the symbol of the horn is associated with the exercise of royalty as an expression of Jehovah's sovereignty. While in the temple, the four horns were associated with the exercise of Jehovah's sovereignty through the priesthood, as part of exclusive worship (or sacred service).

Even in the book of Revelation, there is a passage which shows that Babylon the Great is not the symbol opposite to what represents the sovereignty of kings on earth. In Revelation 18:9,10, it is written that the "kings of the earth will weep and beat themselves in grief over her (Babylon the Great)". This shows that if Babylon the Great were to represent only the false "religion", destroyed by the expression of human political sovereignty (represented by the kings of the earth), does not seem to conform to the context of the book of Revelation. The false worship is far beyond the mere "religious" context, the worship of a false god in a temple, for example. The false worship can also take place in a political context, or as part of an entire nation. The best known state cult is patriotism, the singing of the national anthem (or worship) to the fatherland (acting as an impersonal god representing the nation and the people) and the salute to the flag (gestural worship to the impersonal god of the Fatherland or the Nation). Autocratic regimes have often been organized in a cult of the person of a dictator, greeted in a "religious" gesture of allegiance, or even adoration, with the aim of creating national and patriotic cohesion.

In the book of Revelation chapter 13, it is described a wild beast with two horns, which organizes a false worship around the image of the wild beast which has the number 666. This wild beast is described in a "religious" action while it is supposed to represent a "political" entity. In a way, this wild beast created a new "religion", for a "political" purpose. This shows that in the Bible, these two Greco-Roman concepts are not separated, they are nested. False worship is also exercised in a "political" framework, it is very linked to the exercise of human sovereignty on earth.

From 1991, this patriotic and religious spirituality which allowed the cohesion of nations and empires, and also the great carnage of the two world wars, in the name of Religion and the Fatherland, began to crack in a very accelerated way (this process had already started after 1914 with the disappearance and fragmentation of the Austria Hungarian and later Ottoman empires). Since 1991 there are very numerous conflicts scattered on the earth which divide the nations and make disappear empires by an increasingly accelerated “Balkanization”, with claims of ethnic and religious autonomy extremely deadly (Examples, the war of the ex-Yugoslavia, the massacre of Tutsis in Ruanda and currently the massacre of civilians in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and for several years (for the latter countries of the Middle East)). There is an international liquefaction and atomization, of the cohesion of the worldwide human sovereignty.

It is about the self-destruction of the very concept of human domination on earth, by nationalism and patriotism (political fall), and of the physical and very accelerated self-destruction, of this domination, by wars, the terrorist attacks, the challenges to governmental authority, by mass movements. It is an international liquefaction and atomization of the worldwide human sovereignty (the effective destruction of Babylon the Great). The continuation of the examinations of the prophecies of the Revelation, will make it possible to better understand when this international process of destruction accelerated, until today. It is necessary to identify what is represented by the image of the wild beast with the number, 666, of Revelation 13, corresponding at the same time, to the wild beast of Revelation 17.

THE IMAGE OF THE WILD BEAST:

THE UN ARMIES

(Made available by the nations)

"And it was permitted to give breath to the image of the wild beast, so that the image of the wild beast should both speak and cause to be killed all those who refuse to worship the image of the wild beast"

(Revelation 13:15)

"And it was permitted to give breath to the image of the wild beast, so that the image of the wild beast should both speak and cause to be killed all those who refuse to worship the image of the wild beast"(Revelation 13:15)

In Revelation 17:18, it is written that Babylon the Great is a kingdom, or the expression of sovereignty. In Revelation 13, but also 17, the wild beasts are kingdoms, which horns represent human kings in their military role to defend their sovereignty by force. These wild beasts, as in Daniel’s prophecy, are the expression of human sovereignty by means of armies (Daniel 7 and 8). Jesus Christ also described the Roman armies as the "disgusting thing" (an unclean animal) that causes desolation: "Therefore, when you catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken about by Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place" (Matthew 24:15). The prophecy of Daniel alludes to an animal: "And on the wing of disgusting things there will be the one causing desolation; and until an extermination, what was decided on will be poured out also on the one lying desolate" (Daniel 9:27b). Thus, the wild beasts of the prophecies of Daniel, of Jesus Christ and the Revelation, represent a military entity that destroys and defends human sovereignty by force and ravaging everything in its path. The very fact that these beasts are "wild" is contrary to the very notion of "politics" which is the administration of the city. A "wild" beast does nothing than killing, devouring, tearing and crushing... It causes havoc: "And the ten horns that you saw and the wild beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her devastated and naked, and they will eat up her flesh and completely burn her with fire" (Revelation 17:16).

In Revelation 13, there are mainly three wild beasts: The first beast is “ascending out of the sea”, and it has seven heads and ten horns with a diadem on each of them (Revelation 13:1,2). The fact that it rises from the sea means that it represents a domination which comes from the whole of the current humanity represented, in the Revelation, by many waters: "The waters which you saw, where is seated the prostitute, represent peoples, and crowds, and nations, and languages "(Revelation 17: 1,15). The seven heads represent human kingdoms which are symbolic mountains (Revelation 17: 9). The ten horns of the beast with the diadems represent the set of kings in the exercise of their own power (Revelation 17:12). The "blasphemous names" are obviously the patriotic names of the nations that replace the sovereignty of God on earth.

The second wild beast is "ascending out of the earth", it has two horns like a lamb, but it speaks like a dragon. The fact that it has two horns, in that case, does not mean that this power is led by two kings. The two horns make it look like a harmless lamb, but in fact, it speaks and acts like a destructive dragon: "And it performs great signs, even making fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the sight of mankind" (Revelation 13:13). This wild beast has the world power of the first beast. It represents the current world power. The fact that it ascends out of the earth means that this military world power is the result of stable elements of the human system, as an organized society by a government, institutions and administrations (Revelation 21:1).

The third wild beast is the fruit of the imagination of the second two-horned wild beast, who decides to make an image or a statue of the first wild beast (Revelation 13:14-18). This third wild beast is described in detail in Revelation 17, with seven heads and ten horns, this time without a diadem, which represents kings who have no concrete power. In this same chapter, this image of the beast represents an eighth king (verse 11). This beast is only the result of a vague human concept which consists in making a representation of a worldwide sovereignty: The United Nations. The expression "that was but is not" means that it is only an "image" or a representation of the sovereignty of all the nations, which is, but is not intrinsically this concrete exercise of this sovereignty (the horns have no diadems). The UN is the image or the representation of the sovereignty of the nations, but it is not concretely this sovereignty exercised, in fact, at the level of each of the states or nations.

The cross between Revelation 13 and 17, allows us to better understand how the fall of Babylon the Great was carried out which will lead to its final destruction, particularly by means of solving the enigma around the number 666: "This is where it calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number, and its number is 666" (Revelation 13:18). This number 666 is a benchmark that allows us to know when, this image of the beast had this power of "an hour" to destroy Babylon the Great: "The ten horns that you saw mean ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they do receive authority as kings for one hour with the wild beast. (…) And the ten horns that you saw and the wild beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her devastated and naked, and they will eat up her flesh and completely burn her with fire" (Revelation 17:12,16). But also, the exact moment, during this "one hour", when the two-horned beast gave life to this "image" or statue: "And it was permitted to give breath to the image of the wild beast, so that the image of the wild beast should both speak and cause to be killed all those who refuse to worship the image of the wild beast." (Revelation 13:15) (THE TWO KINGS (last part))

The fall and the destruction of Babylon the Great

"And the ten horns that you saw and the wild beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her devastated and naked, and they will eat up her flesh and completely burn her with fire. For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought, yes, to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished"

(Revelation 17:16,17)

"And the ten horns that you saw and the wild beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her devastated and naked, and they will eat up her flesh and completely burn her with fire. For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought, yes, to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished (Revelation 17:16,17)

The proclamation of the fall of Babylon the Great is the announcement of a historic event that has an international scope, like the epicenter of a great earthquake that would be global. The geographical location of the fall of Babylon the Great represents this epicenter which is located in ancient Babylon, in Iraq, near the capital Baghdad. The fulfillment of this prophecy is a very important landmark in time. His understanding allows us to discern when the period described by Jesus Christ in Matthew 24:29 began, which very shortly precedes the great tribulation: "Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken" (Matthew 24:29).

To fully understand the meaning of this prophecy, we must remember what Jesus Christ said about a kingdom that ends up dividing: "Every kingdom divided against itself comes to ruin, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand" (Matthew 12:25). And this is exactly what this biblical prophecy describes: a division into Satan's earthly kingdom "reduced to ruin", by armies that destroy Babylon the Great. This prophecy shows that it was God who caused this dire situation for Babylon the Great, the capital of the kingdom of Satan. What does it mean ?

It is necessary to proceed in order, starting from a biblical observation and comparing it with the historical facts which seem to fit perfectly. The demonstration will consist in showing the correlation between the number 666 which is stamped on the image of the beast, which symbolizes very exactly the moment when this image, the United Nations, came to life and exercised an effective world military authority "of one hour", with the UN Resolution Number 666 (Revelation 17:12 "one hour"). This "one hour" UN authority was used to destroy Babylon the Great Babylon (Iraq), the epicenter and beginning of a global destruction of human sovereignty that began in early 1991 and will continue until the great tribulation. This demonstration will make the link between the prophetic number 666 and the resolution UN 666, at the time of its authority "of one hour", which was part of a series of other resolutions UN, which led to the destruction of ancient Babylon, symbolized by Iraq.

Get out of Babylon the Great

"And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues""

(Revelation 18:4)

Getting out of Babylon the Great, is no longer participating in religious ceremonies that worship other gods than Jehovah, the only true God. Such religious participation amounts to sacrificing to demons (1 Corinthians 10:20-22). Getting out of Babylon the Great, is no longer participating in patriotic ceremonies by singing national anthems and saluting the flag of the country. Getting out of Babylon the Great, is to give up taking arms to wage war and kill our neighbor, in the name of a nationalist and religious patriotism (Matthew 26:52 "Then Jesus said to him: “Return your sword to its place, for all those who take up the sword will perish by the sword""). Continuing to practice such patriotic worship, would ultimately amount to receive the "mark of the wild beast" (Revelation 13:16,17).

Getting out of Babylon the Great, the spiritual city which has challenged the sovereignty of God, is to join, at the same time, the true worship: "Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshippers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for indeed, the Father is looking for ones like these to worship him. God is a Spirit, and those worshipping him must worship with spirit and truth" (John 4:23,24). Jesus Christ defined the true worship as that directed to his Father, who is Jehovah. In Revelation 18:4, God designates those who are getting out of Babylon the Great and come out of the Great Tribulation to come in the earthly paradise, as being "his people". In the prophecy of Zechariah, it is symbolically the city of "Jerusalem": "And I will bring them in, and they will reside in Jerusalem; and they will become my people, and I will become their God in truth and in righteousness" (Zechariah 8:8). According to Revelation, it is the holy city from which those who repent, give glory to God (Revelation 11:2,13).

In the earthly paradise, this holy city will be the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21: 2). Those who call on and think of the name of Jehovah will be saved, by manifesting their faith in the sacrifice of Christ (Joel 2:32 "And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved"; Malachi 3:16 "And a book of remembrance was written before him for those fearing Jehovah and for those meditating on his name"; Revelation 7:9-17 "The great crowd that will come out of the great tribulation"; Zechariah 13:8,9 "The great crowd will represent the "third part" of the current humanity, which will survive").

For those who want to be part of the people of God, let them approach the Christian congregation which fulfills this criterion stated by Jesus Christ: "I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples—if you have love among yourselves" (John 13:34,35).

Why do the kings of the earth and the merchants are mourning

the fall of Babylon the Great?

"And the kings of the earth who committed sexual immorality with her and lived with her in shameless luxury will weep and beat themselves in grief over her when they see the smoke from her burning. (...) Also, the merchants of the earth are weeping and mourning over her, because there is no one to buy their full cargo anymore"

(Revelation 18:9,11)

Like Jezebel, the queen who influenced the undecided king Ahab, Babylon the Great was the one who influenced, in a spiritual sense, the kings of the earth (1 Kings 21:4-16 "the murder of Naboth by the plot of Jezebel, to steal his vineyard and give it to her husband, king Ahab "). By means of Babylon the Great, patriotic religious spirituality (nationalist patriotic), the kings of the earth managed to unite peoples and kingdoms, but also to despoil them in the name of religion and their policy of personal enrichment. Through religious and political ceremonies, the merchants got rich. During the XXth century, after the first, second world war and the Cold War, rivers of human blood flowed, due to the political and religious ideologies, the spirituality of Babylon the Great. So they were widely discredited in the eyes of the world population. The bloodthirsty spirituality of Babylon the Great has spilled the blood of the holy ones: "And I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the holy ones and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus" (Revelation 17:6). The waters of the "Euphrates River", the natural defense of Babylon the Great, have "dried up", that is, the support of the nations for it has suddenly disappeared (Revelation 16:12 : "The sixth one poured out his bowl on the great river Eu·phraʹtes, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the rising of the sun": This is a historical allusion to the strategic way that King Cyrus the Persian, has conquered the former Babylon, in 539 BCE, prophesied in Isaiah 44:27,28 to 45:1-7, drying up the waters around Babylon; compare with Revelation 17:1 "Sits on many waters").

Since the beginning of 1991, the kings of the earth no longer manage to unite their kingdoms around these politico-religious ideologies, the spirituality of Babylon the Great. According to Daniel's prophecy, iron (government authority) and clay (the people), can be no longer agree: "Just as you saw iron mixed with soft clay, they will be mixed with the people; but they will not stick together, one to the other, just as iron does not mix with clay" (Daniel 2:43). The kings of the earth, are mourning the fall of Babylon the Great, because they cannot control the people by the religious and nationalist patriotic spirituality of Babylon the Great, they no longer manage to enrich themselves by its means. Obviously, the fall of Babylon the Great had economic and commercial repercussions, because the people no longer participate as much as before, in religious and political ceremonies and festivals, which represents a great loss for traders, the merchants of the temple (THE END OF PATRIOTISM).

THE IMAGE OF THE WILD BEAST

AND ITS NUMBER 666

"This is where it calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number, and its number is 666"

(Revelation 13:18)

"This is where it calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number, and its number is 666" (Revelation 13:18)

This biblical examination is based on the link between the mention of the number 666, inscribed on the image of the beast mentioned in Revelation 13:14-18 and the fall of Babylon the Great which is the beginning of the process of the international destruction which will conclude with the great tribulation: "Another, a second angel, followed, saying: “She has fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen, she who made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality!"" (Revelation 14: 8). It is a biblical demonstration of this link, between the number 666 and the fall of Babylon the Great and compared to contemporary historical facts. They will explain the role of the United Nations resolution, Number 666, in the series of other Resolutions, at the time of the first Gulf War, and shortly before the destruction of Iraq, the former cradle of Babylon, in the south of Baghdad, the capital.

For this it is necessary to see how the biblical book of Revelation is structured, in a very simple and concise way to facilitate the understanding as well as possible. The Revelation has four main parts:

1 - The introduction (Revelation 1 to 5): The presentation of the symbolic framework of the narrative of the various prophetic enigmas: the Glorified King Jesus Christ, in the Holy of the spiritual temple sanctuary (Revelation 1-3). The description of the Glory of the Presence of Jehovah God in the Most Holy of the spiritual temple sanctuary (Revelation 4 and 5).

2 - The opening of the seven seals (Revelation 6 to 22): These seven seals represent plagues and the execution of the judgments of God and as well as the destruction of the works of Satan and his system of things which caused the suffering of all humanity for thousands of years. Those who survive this destruction will have everlasting blessings of God (Revelation 7 and 20-22). The opening of the seventh seal is a narrative that has two main parts that make up the third and fourth part of the Revelation (Revelation 8-22).

3 - The plagues (against Satan's system) of the seven trumpets (Revelation 8: 6 in chapter 15). These plagues only reach the "third" part of the whole human system of things.

4 - The plagues (against Satan's system) of the seven bowls (Revelation 16: 1 in chapter 22). These plagues are in fact three times more powerful than those of the seven trumpets because they reach the whole human system of things.

A careful reading of this biblical text of the seven trumpets and the seven bowls, allows us to understand that they correspond without being identical. Their respective juxtaposition allows a better understanding of the prophetic enigmas. Let us take a few examples:

The first trumpet: "The first one blew his trumpet. And there was hail and fire mingled with blood, and it was hurled to the earth; and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green vegetation was burned up" (Revelation 8:7).

The first bowl: "The first one went off and poured out his bowl on the earth. And a hurtful and malignant ulcer afflicted the people who had the mark of the wild beast and who were worshiping its image" (Revelation 16:2).

At first sight, the two narratives are completely different. Nevertheless, they have a common point, the two plagues attack the planet "earth". The first plague of trumpets, attacks what constitutes the source of sustenance as food for humanity, the earth that is burned, the trees and the vegetation. The first plague of bowls, attacks the health of humanity. If we juxtapose the two descriptions of plagues, we have a complete framework. The plagues of the bowls not only multiplies by three, but also increases the severity of the plagues of trumpets. The differences in narrative should be seen as additional information that provides a more complete descriptive framework.

The second plague (trumpet and bowl) attacks the sea, the third plague against the fresh water used to be drunk by the humanity, the fourth plague is against the heavenly source of light for humanity, the sun, the moon and the stars and so on. Clearly, these seven plagues (of trumpets and bowls), although sometimes very different, they correspond by their complementary.

On the basis of this biblical observation, we will take a special attention to the narrative of the seventh trumpet and the seventh bowl. The two plagues inform about the kingship of Christ, the persecution of the holy ones, the fall of Babylon the Great, the marriage of the lamb and the great tribulation. The seventh trumpet plague description has the particularity of repeating a prophetic event twice, in a different way (like the seven trumpets and the seven bowls). Take for example the circumstances of the heavenly enthronement of Christ in Revelation 12:1-6 and 12:7-12:

1 - The war in the heavens to expel Satan and demons in Revelation 12:1-4: The heavenly woman is crying out in pain before giving birth to the child (the kingdom of God), while the dragon stands before her, ready to devour it. The cries of pain of the heavenly woman correspond to the war to get rid of the presence of this heavenly dragon. This understanding is confirmed by the parallel account of Revelation 12: 7-9 (repetition). This biblical text directly describes the war in heaven to expel Satan and the demons around the earth before the birth of the child, the kingdom of God in heaven, through the heavenly enthronement of King Jesus Christ.

2 - The birth of the heavenly kingdom of Christ (Revelation 12:5): The woman gives birth to the child. After the victory over Satan and the demons, the heavenly enthronement of King Jesus is celebrated (Revelation 12:10 (repetition)).

3 - The protection of the celestial woman (Revelation 12:6 "1260 days" compare with (repetition) 12:14 "a time and times and half a time").

4 - The persecution of the heavenly woman (Compare Revelation 12:13 and (repetition) 12:15).

5 - The persecution of "the remaining ones of her offspring", the offspring of the heavenly woman (Compare Revelation 12:17 and the much longer and more detailed account of Revelation 13:1-15 (repetition)).

After this biblical observation, let us examine the part of the narrative of the seventh trumpet, which corresponds to the announcement of the fall of Babylon the Great and the marriage of the lamb, by comparing it with the account of the seventh bowl. However, this time we will first take attention to the description of the seventh bowl, because it is much longer and more precise, see more clearly understandable, regarding the chronology of events:

1 - The very detailed account of the circumstances which led to the fall and destruction of Babylon the Great: Revelation chapters 17, 18 and 19:1-3.

2 - The proclamation of the marriage of the lamb (Jesus Christ and the 144,000): Revelation 19: 6-10.

3 - The dramatic account of the great tribulation: Revelation 19: 11-21.

In the account of the seventh bowl, the chronology of events is not difficult to understand. In the parallel account of the seventh trumpet it is less obvious to perceive this same chronology, which exists biblically for two reasons. The first reason was explained above, there is a repetition of the prophetic statement. The second reason is the enigma of the number 666, which suddenly appears in the biblical text without knowing, in the beginning, what it corresponds to. The number 666 is the famous unknown in the prophetic equation. How to know which event this number 666 corresponds to? It is enough to apply the same succession of the three main events, mentioned above, taking into account the famous repetition of the declaration, to know which event corresponds to the number 666. The description of the seventh plague of the trumpet:

1 - The mention of the enigmatic number 666 (Revelation 13:16-18).

2 - The description of the King Jesus Christ and the 144,000 (The New Jerusalem), which corresponds with the marriage of the lamb (Compare Revelation 14:1-5 and 19 6-10).

In Revelation 14:6, there is what should correspond to the repetition of the proclamation of the fall of Babylon the Great, and the proclamation of the marriage of the lamb, expressed differently:

1 - The preaching of the Good News and the proclamation of the fall of Babylon the Great (Revelation 14:6-12).

2 - The mention of the reward of the holy ones who will participate or attend the marriage of the lamb (Compare Revelation 14:13 with Revelation 19:6-10).

And then there is the prophetic narrative of the great tribulation in Revelation 14:14-20 (compare with Revelation 19:11-21).

The biblical observation is: if we juxtapose the two repetitions of Revelation 13:16-18 at 14:1-5, and Revelation 14:6-13, we realize that the enigmatic number 666 corresponds to the parallel sequence of the declaration of the fall of Babylon the Great (Compare Revelation 13:16-18 and 14:6-12 (parallel sequence): proclamation of the fall of Babylon the Great; 14:1-5 and 14:13 (sequence parallel): allusion to the marriage of the lamb). Now, in the last part of this biblical examination, we will see the relation of the number 666, written in Revelation 13:16-18 and the resolution 666 UN, in order to know if the contemporary historical events, can correspond to the fall of Babylon the Great mentioned in the Bible. We will see at what chronological stage this corresponds to, regarding the signs which precede, the great tribulation (Matthew 24:29).

UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION NUMBER 666

The general idea of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 666, is exactly the prophetic expression of Revelation 13:18 that shows the image of the wild beast would have the “authority” by mean the prophet to decide who could “buy and sell”

This number 666 mentioned in the prophecy of Revelation 13:16-18, is an extremely precise landmark in the chronology of events, in order to know the moment when the destruction of Babylon the Great begins and the period mentioned by Jesus Christ in Matthew 24:29. This number 666 allows us to know when Jehovah God put in the heart of the image of the wild beast, the idea of starting to destroy Babylon the Great (This process is explained after):

“It puts under compulsion all people—the small and the great, the rich and the poor, the free and the slaves—that these should be marked on their right hand or on their forehead, and that nobody can buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name. This is where it calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number, and its number is 666” (Revelation 13:16-18).

Before knowing the important idea of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 666, it is interesting to know that this Resolution 666 has been elaborated within a series of 12 United Nations Security Council Resolutions that would result in the “fall of Babylon the Great” and the beginning of the destruction of it:  “Babylon” that is Iraq (United Nations Security Council Resolutions 660, 661, 662, 664, 665, 666, 667, 669, 670, 674, 677, 678). The general idea of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 666, is exactly the prophetic expression of Revelation 13:18 that shows the image of the wild beast would have the “authority” by mean the prophet to decide who could “buy and sell”...

The United Nations Security Council Resolution 666 (extract): “United Nations Security Council Resolution 666, adopted on September 13, 1990, after recalling resolutions 661 (1990) and 664 (1990) which discussed the humanitarian situation in Iraq and Kuwait and the detention of nationals from foreign countries, the Council decided to ask the Security Council Committee to determine if humanitarian needs have arisen and to keep the situation under review. At the same time, it expected Iraq to comply with its obligations under international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention, relating to the safety and detainment of third-state nationals in Iraq and occupied Kuwait” (Wikipedia United Nations Security Council Resolution 666).

If we compare the terms of this resolution 666 (including the resolution 661), with Revelation 13: 16-18, the similarity is striking because the prophecy evokes an "embargo" against those who do not have the "mark" of the wild beast or does not respect the human sovereignty in its nationalist and patriotic dimension.

It is the UN Resolution 678 (November 29, 1990), which will authorize the military coalition of 33 countries, to destroy by massive bombardments, Iraq, the place of origin of Babylon the Great, the city which was the cradle false worship, by the first Gulf War (Desert Storm (January 17, 1991 - February 28, 1991)). It was the beginning, as an epicenter, of the destruction of Babylon the Great, until God considered this prophecy to be fully fulfilled, just before the Great Tribulation (Revelation 17, 18 and 19: 1-3). This massive destruction is the confirmation that the wild beast is not a "political" entity, but rather a military entity that causes havoc, like a "wild" beast that hurts and kills (Revelation 17:15-18). This similarity is a prophetic landmark that allows us to understand that this first of the Golf War against Iraq, the ancient cradle of Babylon the Great, is the starting point for the general destruction of Satan's sovereignty on earth. Babylon the Great is the global symbol of this earthly sovereignty.

The interesting point is this: while Satan the devil created the "image of the beast" with the purpose to fight against the integrity of the Holy Ones (Revelation 20:4), Jehovah God used this same "image of the beast", through his number 666, to fight against Babylon the Great. In the context of Revelation chapter 13, these sanctions, against those who do not have the mark of the wild beast, were to apply to the "holy ones", the true worshipers (See Revelation 13:7,8). But by combining Revelation 13 with chapter 17: 16-18, God made Satan and his system fall into the hole that they themselves had dug. God put in the heart of the image of the wild beast to destroy the capital of false worship, by initiating at the same time a process of general self-destruction of the whole of human sovereignty on earth: "With the pure you show yourself pure, But with the crooked you show yourself shrewd" (Psalms 18:26).

"The Dream of Saddam Hussein"

To better demonstrate the very close correlation between the prophecy of Revelation on the Number 666 and the destruction of Babylon the Great, in light of the intentions of the former dictator Saddam Hussein, former president (deceased) of Iraq (Babylon), just before this war. Before 1991, the "Dream of Saddam Hussein" was to create a new Caliphate of Baghdad that he tried to symbolize by the reconstruction of Babylon (Iraq) and would federate all the Muslim Nations of the Middle East. DAESH, tried and continue, currently, to do so: “In the Iraqi propaganda, the references to the Babylonian empire, which stretched almost all the way to the Middle East, merge with those, much more numerous, relating to an another empire, that of the Abbasids prevailing in the early days of Islam, on an Arab world expanding. Recreate the power of the Caliphate of Baghdad is part of the dream of Saddam Hussein” (Translated in English from French language “Le Monde International 17/04/2003”).

However, the beginning of the fulfillment of this prophecy in Iraq, would have and currently has repercussions, throughout the Middle East and the whole world, by the various religious attacks. This article clearly shows that since the first Gulf War, there has been an accentuation of a world war under the aspect of a crusade orchestrated by the western militarized "Christian" nations, but also of the Judaic militarized Zionists, against Muslim fighters who have declared a "Jihad" or holy war against the (Western) infidels, whose main objective is to multiply the Caliphates according to their conquests. However, it was the Islamic (Shiite), Iranian revolution in 1979, at the time of the Cold War, which really sparked off the various Jihad (Sunni and Shiite) that are currently continuing. Their first objective was, to fight against the communism, particularly in Afghanistan. After 1991, after the fall of the Soviet Union, the jihads turned against the Westerners (who had armed them in Afghanistan), by territorial wars (In the Caucasus (Chechnya), the former Yugoslavia and DAESH (Syria / Iraq)), and sponsored and disseminated attacks all over the world (mainly by means of Internet social networks (sponsored by several networks of Al Qaeda around the world (with different names))).

DAESH, (ISIL (Islamic State in IRAQ and the Levant)) (an Islamic paramilitary group (Sunni), which fights the Western military powers in the Middle East), has taken over this political and religious objective of the establishment of a Caliphate with the establishment of the Sharia with a Jihad by territorial conquest: "Recreating the power of the Caliphate (Sunni)" by destroying all the borders in the Middle East, created by the Western nations, particularly by the British and French in order to unify the Arab Muslim world into a single united nation, as a Caliphate. Other paramilitary religious movements have followed suit with this Islamic group (See the Diplomatic World "The main Sunni Islamist armed groups", Article by Cécile Marin, February 2015). The "Arab Spring" (January 2011), which is in fact an Arab "revolution" in all the states around the Mediterranean, was successfully recovered for a time by the "Muslim brothers" in Egypt. However, this government experience was cut short because of an armed coup. If Western media propaganda proclaims a territorial victory over DAESH (in Syria and Iraq), the conflict continues in other geographical locations, and through inspired or sponsored attacks on social networks.

In the context of this international politico-religious conflict, the end of the prophecy of Daniel chapter 11 and the beginning of chapter 12, indicates that it is in the Middle East that we must take a special attention of the biblical prophecies fulfillment which announce the end of this system of things by a great tribulation. We must take a special attention on present-day Israel, present-day Jerusalem, Syria / Lebanon (in the north) and Iraq / Iran, in the east (Daniel 11:44-45 at 12:1).

These three major religious branches, "militarized Christian Zionist", "Judaic Zionist" and Muslim jihadists, who wage war and destroy each other, are "messianic". These three worldwide religions think they have the assent of King Jesus Christ who will soon judge the humankind during the great tribulation (Matthew 25: 31-46). However, here is what is written in the Revelation: "These will battle with the Lamb, but because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lamb will conquer them. Also, those with him who are called and chosen and faithful will do so" (Revelation 17:14). The fact that they attack the unarmed and peaceful "holy ones", is an act of war against the lamb. This attack against the holy ones is to be put into perspective with the prophecy of Gog the Magog's attack against the people that God is currently constituting and who will come out of the great tribulation (Ezekiel 38: 1-16; Malachi 3: 16-18 (God is constituting his people); Revelation 7: 9-17 The great crowd that will survive the great tribulation).

We are currently, still in the context of the fulfillment, prophetically mentioned in the Revelation, of the worldwide destruction of Babylon the Great, to be compared with the period mentioned in Matthew 24:29. When exactly did it start? The most logical is the date of March 6, 1991, during his State of the Union Speech, presented by President Georges Bush (Father), in the form of a celebration of this victory over Iraq, the biblical symbol of the cradle of rival worship, Babylon. He inaugurated what he called the "New World Order", which he believed to be peace and security.

March 6, 1991 represents exactly the middle of the 77th year of the reign of King Jesus Christ started on October 4/5 (15 Tishri) 1914 (Revelation 12:10). The fact that God let the nations show their wrath against the heavenly enthronement of His Son Jesus Christ for 77 years, shows that He is fully slow to anger and abundant in mercy: "Jehovah was passing before him and declaring: “Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and abundant in loyal love and truth" (Exodus 34: 6, comparing with the number of times said by Jesus Christ to forgive our neighbor: "77 times" ; Matthew 18: 22; Psalms 2) (PEACE AND SECURITY).
